All About Me!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to another great school year! I would like to begin by introducing myself. My name is Annie Cherry and I graduated from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor’s in English. After working in advertising and sales, I returned to school and received a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Converse College. I was born and raised in Spartanburg, SC. My husband, Jason, and I have one son, Walt, who keeps us laughing each day. I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, spending time with my family and college football- GO COCKS! This is my 14th year teaching at PGS and I feel so fortunate to teach the children at our school and work with so many wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable people.
At PGS, teachers use the College and Career Readiness and South Carolina State Standards to guide our instruction. Your child will receive instruction daily in Reading, English Language Arts, Math, and Science/Social Studies, as well as PE, Library, Computer Technology, SAIL, and Guidance throughout the week. My goal is for all of my students to have fun while learning as much as they possibly can.
Homework Folders will be sent home daily with assignments and a weekly behavior chart. Make sure to sign the behavior chart in the folder each day. Friday Folders will go home each Friday with student work. Please keep your child’s papers, but return the Friday Folder and white envelope with your signature on Mondays.
We are going to have an exciting year together. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me any time. My email address is [email protected] and the school phone number is 583-1868. You may also send a note in your child’s homework folder. Thank you in advance for your support this year!
